Kimber - Florist/Graphic Artist/Web Design and Delevopment
Meet Kimber, A floral designer since 1999 and then shop owner, Kimber’s roots in the floral world run deep. She is also a dedicated caregiver to her Niece Sam, a special needs adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Depression, and ADHD. This role has added a layer of significance to her life’s purpose. Sam’s challenges and triumphs have fueled Kimber’s drive to create something extraordinary that can positively impact both their lives. Her creative ingenuity and unwavering determination to find Sam a sense of purpose and accomplishment and employment that keeps Sam in her field of studies of Web Design and Development. That need led to the birth of Pen to Petal.
Sam - Graphic Artist/Web Design and Delevopment
Born as Kyle and assigned male at birth, Sam’s journey has been one of self-discovery and empowerment. Identifying as female, Sam’s transition has been a journey of authenticity, an inspiring testament to the strength of the human spirit. Sam’s experience, marked by Autism Spectrum Disorder, depression, and ADHD, has only magnified her strength.
Despite facing challenges that often seem insurmountable, Sam’s achievements shine as beacons of hope. Graduating from high school was an accomplishment that defied expectations, embodying her determination to overcome obstacles. Pursuing her higher education alongside Kimber, in the web development and design program at Pinellas Tech College speaks volumes about her tenacity and desire to learn.
Sam’s journey has been a source of inspiration for Kimber, driving her to create Pen to Petal as a platform that would enable them to work together from home.
